Steve Macias Teaching University

On Tuesday, November 13, 2018, I was invited as a guest lecturer at Oikos University in Oakland, California. The school is affiliated with the Korean Presbyterian Church and offers theology, nursing, music, and Asian medicine degrees.

My first few lectures were a verse-by-verse exposition of the fourth and fifth chapters of the Gospel of St. Mark for a group of freshman undergraduates. A second series was delivered for Western Civilization students on the history of the church from Sts. Ignatius and Polycarp through the First Ecumenical Council at Nicaea (325).

I also had the opportunity to address the entire student body during chapel. I shared my Christian testimony and preached on God’s call to represent his Kingdom in every area of our life.
