The choirs from Canterbury Christian School and St. Andrew’s Academy are scheduled to perform an Evensong service 7 p.m. Friday
at St. Paul’s Anglican Church.

Evensong, an evening prayer service founded by the English church in the 16th century, is derived from monastic prayer traditions and drawn from the Book of Common Prayer, created by Archbishop Thomas Cranmer in Since then, Anglicans and Anglophiles alike have embraced the tradition.

The 45-minute service will include Scripture readings, psalms
and the Nunc Dimittis (Song of
Simeon) and Magnificat, both
taken from the Gospel of Luke
