The Reverend Father Steve Macias is the Headmaster at Canterbury Christian School and Rector of Saint Paul’s Anglican Church in Los Altos, California. He is an ordained presbyter (priest) in the Reformed Episcopal Church, a founding jurisdiction of the Anglican Church in North America under the The Most Rev. Dr. Ray R. Sutton (Church of the Holy Communion, Dallas, Texas) in the REC Diocese of Mid-America.
In 2023, Fr. Macias helped establish a new mission congregation of the Church of South India (CSI) within his parish in Northern California, in partnership with The Rt. Rev. Dr. Malayil Sabu K. Cherian of the Madhya Kerala Diocese. He continues to preach and celebrate the sacraments for this congregation, supporting its ongoing ministry, growth, and new vicar. The mission continues to flourish under a cooperative agreement between Bishop Cherian and Archbishop Foley Beach of the Anglican Church in North America (ACNA), who provides stateside episcopal oversight for CSI missions on the West Coast.
He is the author of Reformed Monasticism: The Influence of English Asceticism on Prayer Book Spirituality (2021) and has been a featured speaker at the Anglican Way Institute (Dallas), Fordham University (London, UK), University of the Pacific (Stockton, CA), Reformed Episcopal Seminary (Philadelphia), PA, and a variety of theological and literary conferences.
His Youtube Channel (Link) features sermons, Bible studies, lectures on Anglican theology, and reflections on faith, education, and culture from a classical Christian perspective. The channel serves as a digital extension of his pastoral and educational work.
In 2025, Fr. Macias launched AnglicanWiki.org, a collaborative online reference project modeled afterWikipedia, dedicated to defining and preserving orthodox Anglican theology and history according to the Church’s historic formularies.
Personal Life and Interests
Father Steve and his wife, Sarah, are blessed with six children: Athanasius, Anselm, Assumpta, Basil, Zoe, and Ambrose. Their precious Anselm and Zoe were called to be with Jesus in the womb, before they could be held in their parents’ arms.

In addition to writing about theology and classical education, he advocates for the animal-based ketogenic lifestyle and enjoys studying Spanish, teaching ecclesiastical Latin, and indulging his lifelong Anglophilia.
His other interests include time with family and friends, musical theater and Broadway, BMW motorcycles, HIIT training at Orangetheory, running Spartan races, re-reading Flannery O’Connor, and composing long-form handwritten letters.
Born and raised in Sacramento, California, Father Steve originally pursued a career in politics before being called to the priesthood. He worked as a press secretary in the California State Assembly, managed political campaigns, and served in various Washington DC-based pro-life ministries.
